Birthday Boots!

So this weekend was my friends Boots birthday and I made her a lil card.

I used a Kenny K Stamp that I thought was perfect as she is a Copics addict!

I added some embellishments including some candis to match the backing paper.

I used pan pastels to colour the white card and added a simple birthday postmark sticker to the envelope.

One of my fave cards :)

Smashing!

So I have started my first Smash Book, a sort of scrapbook meets journal meets whatever you want!

I got the pink smash book from K and Company and am using it as a scrapbook/journal.

I recorded some events that happened in June; a birthday party, an engagement party, a day out and a craft day!

It is really fun to make, I recommend one to all crafters :)

Some Odd Girl Fun!

So today was another Some Odd Girl Facebook Fun Day, where the main challenge was unusual hair.

I made pockets for tags with their fab mermaid set.

I kept the theme pink and blue and used the same colours for all the tags and backings.

The backing papers are coloured with distress inks and stamped with Some Odd Girl stamps.  Then I coloured a main stamp with promarkers and glued one to the front of each pocket.

I then finished them off with a cute pink ribbon to tie them together, and used this ribbon on each tag.

I love this stamp set and I am really happy with how they came out!

Fathers Day

It was Fathers Day this Sunday so i made my Dad a card with some Teddy Bo stamps.

I coloured this with promarkers, chose blue for the "dad" bear and pink for the "daughter bear"

I then coloured a white card with a turquoise panpastel.

I added the teddy bo stamps and some sentiments on to backings cut with X-Cut dies.

I also added some letter embellishments for my nickname for my dad (poppi) and his nickname for me when I was a child (chip).

I am really happy with my colouring, and I like the overall card :)

Baby Book

For my nephews 1st birthday I spent about 4 months compiling a huge scrapbook chronicling his first year.

I was pretty happy with it, and his momma seemed happy too :)

Here are some pages below!

Crafty Boots Challenge 2

This is my second entry for the current challenge! (http://craftybootschallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/bowtasticanything-goes.html)

Similar card, just stamped with hearts not flowers.

Again a SOG sentiment.

Crafty Boots Challenge

Below is my first entry for the crafty boots challenge (http://craftybootschallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/bowtasticanything-goes.html).

I used a crafty boots white card and used violet pan pastels to create the background swirl pattern.

I used the free CB bow digi and stamped it with flowers. I then put some random embellishments in the centre of the bow.

The background to the bow was cut and embossed with a cuttlebug.

I added bow stamps to the card with purple candis in their centres.

To finish it off I added a Some Odd Girl sentiment.

Pan Pastels

So I have found a love of pan pastels! (available at http://www.craftyboots.com/ourshop/cat_581196-Pan-Pastels.html)

I used the pan pastel sponge with violet and starting in the middle of a white card swept out to the edges in a swirl pattern.

I then went over this in turquoise using the same technique.

To finish the card I used a Some Odd Girl stamp, a frame and butterflies cut with a cuttlebug and a few random embellishments.

I love the effect of the pan pastels, I can see me soon expanding my collection!

Tia (Some Odd Girl)

My favourite character from SOG stamps is Tia, she is so cute!

Here are 4 cards I made today with stamps I bought in the flash sale yesterday (aka the day Christmas came early!);

I think my fave card is the first one with a purple theme, I coloured the sentiment with promarkers but they didn't blend very well on the glossy paper type.

My fave stamp is the second "mail day tia", it is the first time I have really done a background for a stamp.

Some Odd Girl Competition

I have entered the following in the SOG "bright" challenge held today as part of their facebook fun day!

I loooove their stamps (and bought quite a few today when it was 45% off!!!)

I have coloured candis with promarkers up the side to match the colour scheme and embellished a random ribbon cut with "thank you"

Some Odd Girls

So in the short period I have been stamping and colouring I have fallen in love with Some Odd Girl stamps!

They are so cute and quirky and I love colouring them with promarkers and then making different cards with them.

I have included below the ones I have done that have not been already blogged.

Crafty Boots is one of the few UK retailers of SOG stamps (and the cheapest!).

Plus, any delivery comes in the cutest packaging!

Marbling

So last night the very talented Stephanie Emma taught us marbling!

It involved shaving foam, alcohol inks, and lots of fun mess!

The results are below, and I have already used one for a card!

The girl is a Some Odd Girl stamp, and the two Candi embellishments are "gold wedding" coloured with promarkers (Candis bought from Crafty Boots). I kept the card simple so the marble backing stood out.

New Cards

Tonight I needed to chill out so I made three new cards!

The first and last stamps are tiddly inks (so cute!) and the middle is Some Odd Girl, all have been coloured with promarkers. All papers and embellishments are from my "random" box.

I can's decide if I like the first card but I love the backing paper so much. It is also the first time I close cut a stamp (shows how new I am to stamping and cards!)

I love the paper flowers with brads, I use these on many projects!

But my fave is the final girly pink card :) Pink card, girly stamp, glittery paper, and a pink bow, perfect!

Monday 14 May 2012

I am entering the following card in the latest Crafty Boots Challenge which has the theme "Good Luck",

Hopefully it brings me good luck :)

This month two friends got engaged so I made them a congratulations card.

I coloured the stamp to look like the actual couple and used a pearl pen in the corners.

The stamp was coloured with Promarkers.

As well as cards I love scrapbooking.

This was how I got into crafting and I think they are a beautiful way to remember events/trips etc.

Below are pages from my childhood scrapbook.

I like the page to reflect the photo, so for example in the first one the purple bunny embellishment matches the purple bunny jumper.

The to be continued page uses my favourite sticker letters, they are called "Princess Letters".

The rest are some of my favourite pages from the book.
